How to recognize early stages of a burnout
Experiencing stress for prolonged periods can eventually lead to a burnoutย
By being aware of the state of your own body and mind, and recognizing early symptoms, you can take measures which may reduce your chances of developing a burnout.
Early symptoms may be:
Feeling exhausted;
Feeling empty;
Concentration issues;
Getting sick more often;
Sleeping issues;
Withdrawal from friends/family;
Neglecting your own needs.
Identify the cause
Although the workplace can be a prevalent source of stress, it is also common for parents to be under a lot of stress. The constant state of stress can affect multiple domains of your life simultaneously. Therefore spend some time assessing what the source of your stress is, so that you can think of countermeasures effectively.ย
Ask for help
During stressful times, itโs important to reach out for help. If asking for assistance feels difficult, consider developing a self-care โcheck-inโ with close friends and family members so that you can take care of each other during trying times. Also know you can always reach out to HR whenever you do not feel at your best.
