We – the students, families, and staff of James Baldwin Academy – grow in a
humanizing and therapeutic learning environment,
fueled by collaborative community and equity-driven education.

We believe students thrive when we provide an education that humanizes, heals, and empowers.  Through educational innovation, teaching our students criticality, and honoring each student's and each family's individual and collective experience, our students build confidence.  Through therapeutic care and restorative practices, we cultivate compassion with each other.  Through a culturally responsive educational and therapeutic lens, we create and sustain community with our students, staff, and families towards collective liberation. With these supports, James Baldwin Academy students become agents of change for themselves, their community, and the world.
