Project-Based Learning Structure
All Memphis School of Excellence teachers embed at least 2 authentic project-based learning activities per school year. On average, students participate in 4-6 separate interdisciplinary PBLs throughout the school year.
Project-Based Learning Assignments are:
Authentic
Based in real-world situations or scenarios
Incorporate student voice and choice
Require 21st Century Learning Skills
Integrate technology
Are multi-disciplinary
Include a phase of revision/critique
Result in a showcase event for their public product, "Eagle Expo"
2023-2024 School Year
1st Semester PBL Week: December 11th-15th, 2023
Teacher Project Submission: By December 7th, 2023 (earlier if materials must be ordered)
Semester 1 "Eagle Expo": December 19th, 2023
2nd Semester PBL Week: May 6th-10th, 2024
Teacher Project Submission: On or before May 2nd, 2024 (earlier if materials must be ordered)
Semester 2 "Eagle Expo": May 15th, 2024
2022-2023 School Year
1st Semester PBL Week: November 14th-18th, 2022
Teacher Project Submission: By November 10th, 2022 (earlier if materials must be ordered)
Semester 1 "Eagle Expo": November 30th, 2022
2nd Semester PBL Week: May 1st-5th, 2023
Teacher Project Submission: On or before April 27th, 2023 (earlier if materials must be ordered)
Semester 2 "Eagle Expo": May 10th, 2023
