This is a general FAQ designed to help you connect your VPN to your Google Authenticator application and address minor issues with the VPN profiles:
I opened up OpenVPN and I don't see my profile?
Double check that you followed the directions for adding your VPN profile to the OpenVPN app. Those instructions are located here. Make sure you've downloaded the profile before attempting to add it, you will not be using the URL entry for profiles.
I'm not able to get to the website to download the profile, what do I do?
First, double check you spelled the website correctly. Second, make sure your internet connection is still working. If neither are the issue, go ahead and submit a ticket for IT.
When I try to log in to download the VPN profile, I keep getting the error message "Login Failed", what's going on?
Double check your credentials. If you're trying to download from ovpn.sqis-corp.com, make sure you're using your computer login username with "@selectquotesenior.com" or "@sqah.com", depending on your role. If you're trying to download from ovpn.monaca.com or ovpn.indy.com, you'll only use your computer login as you logged in with, no changes.
There's a pop up when I first launch OVPN, do I hit Agree?
Yes.
My phone's camera is not scanning the QR code, what should I do?
First, make sure you're trying to scan it through the Authenticator Application. To do so, hit the "+" icon in the app and select "Scan QR Code". Second, make sure there isn't a glare on the computer screen. Third, clean your camera's lens of debry and smudges. If you're still having issues after that, go ahead and submit a ticket for IT.
I just scanned a code and can't figure out which one it is?
The newest codes should appear at the bottom as of 2024. If you need to for organization, you can tap and hold on the new code to rename it. Click the pencil icon at the top and edit the name. Please be careful not to delete the code.
Do I have to keep the Google Authenticator application on my phone?
Yes, this application will work as a digital keyring for various systems you'll be accessing.
My codes disappeared! What do I do?
First, verify that you didn't accidentally sign into an account in the application. If you're still having issues after that, go ahead and submit a ticket for IT.
Should I sign into the Google Authenticator with an email?
Your Google Authenticator account should have been set up with no account. If you are signed into your work email, please sign out of it and submit a ticket for IT, to get those codes reset. If you stay signed into your work account and ever get locked out, it creates a situation where you've "locked your keys in your car".
