Welcome to our Lockdown learning page. This page serves as a landing point for us as we travel this journey together.
We have put on some great sites that all the children can access to do things online, including listening to stories and working on their basic facts and maths skills.
At the start of each week, I’ll post a few specific things for that week's learning menu. I’ll also put them on Seesaw as well.
These activities will also be posted on Seesaw, alongside a variety of others
Hanoch Piven is an amazing artist, who uses found objects to make portraits.
He collects objects and then experiments with them to make a portrait of a person.
Watch the video below and then come back and check in on here or Seesaw for the tasks to complete each Day
Thursday/Friday - Create your portrait and take a photo. Challenge someone in your bubble to make a portrait as well.
Challenge your family to make one too
OR
You could make a family portrait, with all your family in it.
Each day I will post a different activity related to the picture - check in here or on Seesaw so you can complete it.
Thursday/Friday
Use all your ideas and write your story. Remember to use all your amazing sound knowledge to spell your words.
I want you to focus on using great descriptions to extend your ideas.
Remember to use your word knowledge to do great spelling and capital letters at the start and full stops at the end of sentences.
Use the prompt to write a short speech. Remember to give the reasons as to why you have chosen those 3 things.
You could record yourself on Seesaw or send me your writing. Maybe see if you can get someone else in your family to do the same thing and see if you find out something new about them!
Move like a Robot
Play air guitar
Wiggle your fingers
Stand on your toes
Shake your whole body
Roll your eyes
Stamp your feet
Wiggle your ears
Try and do each thing more than once
Then join them together in a pattern - either do 5 of one thing then 5 of another OR do one of each 5 times.
Take a funny video of yourself and load it up onto Seesaw.
This week we will be practicing contractions.
Remember that contractions are shortened and use an apostrophe.
I'm it's can't isn't wasn't
don't hasn't didn't
Friday - ask someone in your whanau to say the contractions and write down the contraction and the words that have been shortened. Get them checked.
Have a look at the picture and see if you can answer the questions.
Record your answer either on some paper or record yourself on Seesaw.
Practice these words each day and get someone to check with you on Friday
Choose one book or a chapter of a book to read each day.
Either read by yourself or with someone in your bubble.
Record it each day in the reading log.
On Friday, record yourself reading.
Click on the button and have a go with google draw.
It might be easier on an iPad but try using either that or the computer.
