Welcome to our Lockdown learning page. This page serves as a landing point for us as we travel this journey together.
We have put on some great sites that all the children can access to do things online, including listening to stories and working on their basic facts and maths skills.
At the start of each week, I’ll post a few specific things for that week's learning menu. I’ll also put them on Seesaw as well.
These activities will also be posted on Seesaw, alongside a variety of others
MIXED MEDIA BUTTERFLY COLLAGE
Draw a butterfly outline shape then create all the patterns and shapes within using found materials.
You could use recycled card and paper, tin foil, baking paper, pantry items, fabric, wool, leaves, sticks, buttons, beads - anything you can find that catches your eye!
The main idea is to create or find 2 of each item or shape so you can create a butterfly that is symmetrical (one side reflects exactly to the other side). This is the maths bit!
If you have paint or crayons you could also make printed papers using textured items from your home or garden such as bubble wrap or leaves.
If you don’t have glue you could carefully place everything into the butterfly shape on a table and take a photograph to record your beautiful creation.
SKILLS: creative and critical thinking; developing ideas around balance, shape, pattern, form and space; geometry and measurement
Each day I will post a different activity related to the picture - check in here or on Seesaw so you can complete it.

Who lives here?

What does the prefix sub- mean? What other words can you find that have ‘sub’ at the beginning of them.
Choose one or both - the red one is just a bit of fun!!
Use the prompt to write a short speech. Remember to give the reasons as to why you have written what you have.
You could record yourself on Seesaw or send me your writing.
Choose several of these to do each day
Try and do each thing more than once
Then join them together in a pattern - either do 5 of one thing then 5 of another OR do one of each 5 times.
Take a funny video of yourself and load it up onto Seesaw.
Calculate how many things the caterpillar ate in one week. Can you write each type of food as a fraction of the total number of pieces eaten.
When an insect changes like this it is part of what we call their life cycle, it’s called metamorphosis.
Create a life cycle diagram
Have a look at the picture and see if you can answer the questions.
Record your answer either on some paper or record yourself on Seesaw.
