The College Success Foundation-District of Columbia’s Scholars Program (CSF-DC Scholars Program) is designed to increase college awareness, academic readiness, college access opportunities, and improve graduation rates for high potential, low-income and first generation students who live in Washington, D.C.
Through a unique system of integrated advisement and academic supports, scholarship packaging, college supports and 21st century skills development, CSF-DC provides customized assistance and wrap-around support for students in the following areas:
Academic advising (at middle and high school)
After-school enrichment
21st century skills development
Motivational speakers
College tours
Summer academic enrichment programs
Test preparation and information
Financial aid and scholarship identification and packaging
Partner-funded scholarships
College admission support
College advisement and coaching support
College enrollment management guidance
Partner-supported internships
Career advisement
CSF-DC is designed to accomplish the following:
Support underserved, low-income and first-generation students to high school graduation
Ensure admission and enrollment for every eligible student at a “best fit” college or university
Improve college-level educational outcomes (grades and other academic profiles) and foster consistent matriculation
Support students through to college graduation with minimal debt
Provide career guidance and assistance to ensure advanced study or entry-level professional employment
Share expertise and learnings with collaborating community partners and college access providers in order to close the opportunity gap for students in underserved communities
