Students will have weekly spelling tests based on our phonics focus of the week. They will have 4 high frequency words each week. These high frequency words are based on the words that they need to be able to spell by the end of 3rd grade. Students will also do a dictated sentence based on the phonics focus of the week.
Each Friday students will be bringing home a list of words to study for their test on Friday. They will do activities during the week to help learn these words but practice at home would be great reinforcement.
