Putting a Price on Carbon: A Primer for University Leaders

The purpose of this primer is to bring higher education leaders up to speed on carbon pricing as a useful tool for addressing the challenge of climate change at the university and societal level. This primer covers a brief rationale for carbon pricing and also highlights several examples of what university leaders are already doing to help put a price on carbon, with notes on several additional considerations for doing so in an economically and socially responsible way.

Rutgers Climate Symposium 2020

The Rutgers Climate Symposium invited students, faculty and staff from academic and research institutions throughout the US, Canada and Mexico, as well as members of the public, to a virtual symposium on the role of public universities in transformative climate action for a just recovery. Featured speakers included members from four other UC3 members universities.

Midwest Climate Summit

Washington University in St. Louis recently kicked off the Midwest Climate Summit in partnership with over twenty leading Midwestern higher education institutions, non-profits, local governments, and businesses, including fellow UC3 members The Ohio State University and the University of Michigan.The goal of the Summit is to deepen expertise, accelerate climate action, and develop a Midwestern response to the climate crisis.
