Meet the instructor

trevor mcgarrah

It is pronounced 'McGarrrrrrr' (pretend you're a pirate when you say his name).

Mr. McGarrah graduated high school from the Arkansas School for Math, Science, and the Arts in 2000. He went on to major in physics at the University of Arkansas after deciding business classes were too easy. He subsequently earned his master's in teaching from the UofA in 2008.

He has a lifelong fascination with computers, technology, and video games. He is largely a self-taught programmer. He would not consider himself an expect by any means, but he enjoys learning more about computer science. As any programmer or computer scientist will tell you, get comfortable with always learning if you pursue a career in this field. His greatest achievement in programming was participating in two different game jams where he programmed each game from start to finish in two different weekends.

Mr. McGarrah has a wife and three children. His only daughter and oldest son will both be attending Searcy High School for the 2021-2022 school year.
