Arthur Rimbaud

LIVES

I

Oh, the enormous avenues of the holy land ... the terraces of the Temple!

What have they done with the Brahman who taught me the Proverbs?

From then, from far below, I can still see even those old women ...

I remember hours of silver and sun near rivers,

With the hand of the countryside upon my shoulder

, And I remember our embraces, standing in the scented plain

. A flight of scarlet pigeons thunders about my thoughts ...

In my exile here, I have a stage where I can play

The sweeping tragedies of all literatures.

I will show you unheard-of riches. I watch the history

Of the treasures you have round. I can see what will follow!

But my wisdom is as much ignored as chaos.

What is my nonbeing, compared with the stupor which awaits you?

Arthur Rimbaud was a French poet known for his transgressive and surreal themes and for his influence on modern literature and arts, prefiguring surrealism. We reflected on a specific poem chosen and collected objects which we felt were related to the poem or somehow connected to skeleton of the poem.

Through these objects we found a meaning to it and brought it to life and made an installation

I made a bed depicting my childhood memories

through this installation we wrote a text embedding this meaning into it but also thinking through the spaces it was creating around us.

Switching up and down up and down leaning across the lump of blankets.Folds and unfolds, creases and edges waiting to be spread out. Being the kind of person to attach to what it sees be it reality, theater or fake is hard because it drives your mind away from what is supposed to be focused on. In one moment  just gazing out of the window and in a 5 minute gap  wondering why is life like that. Theater which is basically reality imagined and written down. Its all just goodie goodie and so easy to fall for. It just gets your mind stuck in there. Fake is born from the reality imagined. Everyone pretends to be they are not by watching the reality which is not true and we know it but to  just think about it makes it so happier. From questioning every decision as silly like why take a virar train, in the with all the crowd but it leaving to closest station than to avoid all the crowd and taking a borivali train but have to walk too much so naahhh to like yeah why is a pulav called veg biryani.  What Should I watch today? Subconscious is very unstable. Dreams, nightmares, fantasy, inspirations, fears, hallucinations,  delusions are all part of it. Shifts from 1 to another in a flick of time. When the burrow created enwraps you around it just surrounds you with a sense of protectiveness to fight back the fears our subconscious is trying to dig out.  Dreams are also so a part of the fake reality imagined it just goes ahead and none of it is true. Everyday while/before waking up, the subconscious is woken up already. All the dreams transform into thoughts and go on in the head for a while after that something happens and it's just gone.  what's there for lunch?  what to wear?  Will green look good on blue jeans?  or just the daily thing that black fits in everywhere and everything. When leaving hair down turn out to be a good idea because it's too hot nahhh I am just going to tie it. Damn will leaving 3 minutes late cause Virar train or is the train 5 minutes late. I just hope so

A drawing was created through various processes

All of those drawings we studied and the ones which had the same language were put up in a group and we directed and wrote a play.
