A museum is an institution for archival of the past and it also displays a collection of artefacts. Museums are also a place of knowledge where you get to know about history, culture, etc of a particular type. There are many types of museums like archaeological, jewellery, waxworks, etc. Museums are often imagined as a very huge closed volumes which in way doesn't create a relationship with the visitors.
Looking at the culture and history of Paithan, a large part of the town's economy was shaped by making of the 'Paithani' sarees. Hence, the spaces of the history, textiles, weaving, etc. could be more of an engaging space with the people rather than just an informative space.
The design intent of the project is to create relationship with the visitors. Having smaller spaces of pause like courtyards, pocket balconies, etc. will create much more varying experience. People would get a glimpse of the courtyards from different spaces at varying heights. Using brick and concrete as a building material has many possibilities for exploring the form and experience it provides. The idea of having brick jalis, arches, etc adds to the experience of the space in the museum.
