TP Wrestlers on to Masters

134lbs Parker Sullivan- CIF 6th Place

154lbs Luke Maffett CIF 4th Place

172lbs Wesley Lee CIF 6th Place

197lbs Martin Suaste CIF 4th Place

Senior Luke Maffett is leading the Varsity Falcon wrestlers in to the Masters tournament with a 37-8 record on the year. To advance to the Masters tournament Wesley Lee improved from an 8th place pre seed to a 4th place finish to qualify for Masters. Junior Parker Sullivan went to CIF with a pre seed of 11th place and up set the bracket to finish 6th to qualify for Masters. 197lb Martin Suaste entered CIF with an 12th place pre seed and fought his way to a 4th place finish to qualify for Masters.

Coach Malachi Walker talked about the events on Saturday. "I was really impressed with the mental toughness the wrestlers showed. Senior Wesley Lee fought through a double over time match in the quarter finals to make it to the medal rounds and qualify for Masters. Believing you can win sets the tone for each match you wrestle and our guys believe in themselves. The Masters tournament at Otay Ranch this Friday and Saturday will be a tough tournament and we will be ready to wrestle our best! "
