In the spotlight: Senior Sean Doyle guides the attack for Torrey Pines after earning All-America honors last year when the Falcons claimed their first San Diego Section Division I title since 2007. Doyle, who is heading to Cornell in the Ivy League, is in his fourth varsity season and second year as team captain. “We know Sean can score goals and make plays,” said second-year Torrey Pines coach Jon Zissi, whose squad has six players with college commitments. “The biggest focus will be on his leadership.” Also keying the offense is junior Lucas Gradinger, who returned for last year’s playoff run after missing 18 games with a broken collarbone.
