Enrollment for the Online Learning Program for the 23-24 School Year
We will continue to enroll students in the Online Learning Program as space remains available, within the district ADD/DROP timelines.
At this time enrollment in the OLP for the 23-24 school year is closed.
SDUHSD is proud to offer an Online Learning Program (OLP) option as an alternate means for eligibile students to access courses and fulfill requirements in compliance with California Independent Study Provisions.
Basics Information about the Online Learning Program:
Students must live within the SDUHSD school boundaries to access OLP.
Enrollment in the Online Learning Program takes place at the start of terms (specifically during the add/drop window of the student's home school).
Classes utilize the Edgenuity learning platform for the online curriculum.
There is not an option for a hybrid of classes between the OLP and the student’s home school. Students either take all their classes through the OLP or all their classes at the home school, in-person.
Students are expected to complete a minimum of four hours of work per day. This is self-directed learning. Realistically we are finding most students need to spend 4-6 hours a day to keep up with the workload, based on the courses that the student is enrolled in.
It is important that students are strong independent learners to be successful in this program.
Students will have a virtual weekly one-on-one meeting with their teacher. These meetings may be held in-person, as needed.
Students will have a virtual weekly synchronous instruction meeting. These meetings may be held in person, as needed.
If students miss meetings or do not keep up with the weekly work, there will be a meeting called to discuss the concerns. If the students continue to miss meetings or not complete their weekly work a conversation will be had as to whether or not the OLP is the appropriate fit or if students should return to their home school.
Students are asked to commit to either a year or at least one term of enrollment in the OLP.
Students enrolled in OLP may still participate in extracurricular activities and athletics through the home school.
