Ainsley Peacock (any pronouns) is so grateful to serve as this year's President for Troupe 2196! They have done theatrical lighting since they got to SDA and have gotten to branch out to outside productions this past year. They have been the Lighting Designer at SDA for Swords for Hire, The Outsiders, Our Town, Anything Goes, and 3 One Act Productions. Other roles they have done have been the Lead Electrician for 4 productions, A Followspot Operator for 7 productions, and an Assistant Stage Manager for 1 production. Outside of the theatre, Ainsley loves baking, watching horror movies, and listening to music. They are so excited to continue to make the club a welcoming and supportive place for everyone! Please do not be afraid to reach out as they want to make sure everyone is doing alright!

Emme Molon - Vice President

Kai Bunyak (they/them) couldn’t be more proud to be the Vice President of Thespian Troupe 2196 this year! They have been acting for 10 years, but have never found an ensemble as spirited and welcoming as the SDA theatre community. In addition to serving as dramaturg for several shows, they have featured as the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, Macbeth in Macbeth, Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, Roland in Swords for Hire, and the Stage Manager in Our Town. Beyond Thespians, they also lead Comedy Sportz—SDA’s improv team—and Dungeons & Dragons Club. Kai is always here to talk, whether it be emotional support, favorite Pringle flavors, or anything Shakespeare :)

Maya Wiemann - Secretary

Maya Wiemann (she/her) is so excited to spend her senior year serving as this year’s SDA Thespian Club Secretary! Maya has been involved in theatre and dance since she was 5 years old and has been a part of many productions at SDA and throughout the San Diego community. Some of her favorite theatre experiences include playing Cherry in The Outsiders, Charity and Dance Captain in Anything Goes, and serving as Dance Captain for Chicago with Ovation Theatre. She has also worked behind the scenes as a Hair & Makeup Designer, Props Crew member, and Set Designer.

Outside of theatre, Maya has trained in dance for over 10 years in styles including jazz, jazz funk, ballet, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and tap. She teaches and choreographs at Stage Door Dance Encinitas and is both the Program Captain of the SDA Dance Team. Maya plans to continue studying dance and theatre in college and pursue a career in the dance industry and performing arts.

Maya is incredibly grateful for the SDA theatre community and is excited to give back by serving as a Thespian officer! Outside of theatre and dance, she loves journaling, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and going to see musicals!

Sofia Serrano - Treasurer

Sofia Serrano (she/her) is incredibly excited to serve as this year's SDA Thespian Club Treasurer! Sofia has loved the performing arts for over 10 years and has been involved in countless productions both at SDA and local theaters. A few of her favorite roles include Wednesday Addams (TTC), Kathy Selden (NCRT), Mrs Mayor (OT), Publicity Manager - Bookstore (SDA), and Arista (SDA). She is proud to say that the fantastic SDA theatre community has been like no other, and she feels so grateful to give back to a community that has given her so much over these past 4 years! Beyond Thespians she also leads the SDA Icebreakers Club (humanitarian club), and enjoys singing, patchworking, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family. She is always available to talk whether that be about musical theatre lore, favorite ice cream/froyo shops, Depop finds or anything and everything else!

Sophia Swain - Public Relations

Sophia Swain (she/they) is overjoyed to be this year’s Public Relations Officer for Thespian Troupe 2196! They have always had a personal love for everything related to the performing arts, and have dabbled in some acting alongside their main interest in technical work. Sophia loves Assistant Stage Management (ASM) along with Stage Management, but also likes to step outside her comfort zone and try something new. Outside of the theatre, Sophia enjoys baking, sketching, and watching her favorite TV shows. This year, she hopes to help connect this thespian troupe through social media and publicity, but also wants to create a safe space for all those who need it. They are always available to talk about musicals, movies, or anything really! Just say hello! 👋💗
