PSA DAYS
PSA DAYS
Every PSA Day we get together as a community to CONNECT, VOLUNTEER + DONATE!
PSA Day is a focused day each month to participate on campus or in the classroom or maybe meet a new parent! We also highly recommend wearing your spirit gear (i.e. tie-dye) that day!
*We welcome participation every day but we also understand it can be overwhelming; we're hoping PSA Days will streamline the volunteering and participation messaging so you can focus your efforts one day per month.
8:00am-9:00am Coffee + Convos Join parents + staff for a quick cuppa and a chat! We meet near the drop-off line at the back gate. Coffee + snacks provided. This is a great opportunity to connect in community, we would love to see you there! All are welcome!
9:00-10:00 Volunteer Support Hour with Ms. Morgan Join long-time co-op community member (school founder, parent, staff + volunteer extraordinaire) Ms. Morgan, for everything you need to know about volunteering at SDCCS. She will help caregivers new to the volunteer experience get acclimated to the campus and best practices. Meet in the garden by the blue shed (PSA Shed.) *Dates are limited, see monthly schedule.
9:00am - 3:00pm Self-guided Volunteering Opportunities: Check the list and pick to a task! Tasks start at just 5 minute commitments! Simply sign-in with the front office and check the online list for tasks that need to be completed. Instructions + equipment info is on the list. Equipemnt is located in the PSA Shed (blue shed in the garden.) Be sure to mark your tasks as completed so other parents know wher to jump in. And last but not least, log those volunteer hours in Parent Square! (LINK)
3:30-5:00pm PSA General Meeting The PSA is YOU! Every parent + staff member is automatically a member of our organization. We meet monthly on campus to inform the community of support opportunities at the school.
PSA is run by volunteers to improve the campus, the staff experience and the learning experience for our students. YOUR participation makes a difference, every family matters!
Unlike other schools, you don’t have to pay a membership fee to “join” our Parent Staff Association, and SDCCS HIGHLY encourages parents to be on campus- whether that means volunteering or being in your child's classroom (as individual teachers find comfortable.)

We have the honor and pleasure to have a contrubuting founder of our school still volunteering and participating at SDCCS! Ms. Morgan will be available throughout the year to help guide parents on best practices for in-class and on-campus volunteering. Her dedication to the co-op ethos and our founding principles are what shaped the school as we know it, let's carry the torch into the coming years!
Check the self-guided list for ways to help spruce up the campus or assist a teacher in need.
If you complete a task, check it off, so others may know it's complete!
Don't forget to log your hours!

General Meetings are held every 3rd Tuesday
PSA is the official group that handles parental/caregiver involvement with the school through the goals of connecting the community, volunteering and fundraising.
Each meeting covers PSA business + updates, event announcements, and spotlights a different SDCCS aspect or community each month.
PSA general business will be shared, including important community votes, budget information + more.
We would love to see you there!
