MAC Expectations

At Meyer, we use MAC (movement-activity-conversation) rules as our behavioral expectations. This is consistent language used throughout our school that helps ensure that students are always aware of the expectations. During speech sessions, students are expected to:

  • Movement: Be sitting in your seat or at your carpet spot with a calm body

  • Activity: Have "eyes watching" and "ears listening" while it is the teacher or another student's turn to talk

  • Conversation: When it is his/her turn to talk, the student is expected to have a voice level 2. If it is not their turn to talk, they are listening with a voice level 0.

    • Voice level 0: no talking

    • Voice level 1: whispering

    • Voice level 2: inside voice

    • Voice level 3: outside voice
