Ms. Frankel's Speech and Language Page

Hello!

I am the speech-language pathologist at Meyer who works with preschool and kindergarten aged students. Students who receive speech language services have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). However, I also provide some interventions through MTSS (Multi-tiered System of Supports) for mild articulation errors. I provide speech language therapy in small groups as well as within the classroom.

As a speech-language pathologist, the students I work with have a variety of communication needs. Some examples of those communication needs are:

  • CAS (childhood apraxia of speech)

  • Speech sound disorders

  • Expressive language deficits

  • Receptive language deficits

  • Pragmatic (social) language deficits

  • Fluency/stuttering

For more information about speech and language, please refer to the Resources link. If you have questions about your child's speech and/or language skills, please contact me.

I originally graduated from Indiana University with my Pre-Professional Speech-Language undergrad degree and then received my Master’s in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Michigan State University. After graduating, I started my career in South Carolina schools, but have called the Chicago area home for the past 11 years. During my time in Chicago, I’ve worked in public and private schools, as well as outpatient clinics serving students with a wide range of communication needs. As a member of the Skokie community myself, I am excited to work with the families of Skokie School District 73 1/2!
