Welcome to Fourth Grade

This site will provide information about fourth grade. We are so excited to work with you and your student. If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call your child's teacher.

The best way to learn about what's happening in class is through the platforms Google Classroom and/or SeeSaw.

Help Your Child By...

  • Expect homework of some kind to be done every night. Check your child’s assignment notebook and folders, but please don't clean out your child's folders.

  • Set aside a specific time and place for homework. See that your child has pencils, paper and other school supplies at home.

  • Help your child balance study time with recreational time. If homework is bringing on tears or taking more than 40 minutes, please call the teacher!

  • Help your child apply his or her school learning to real-life situations in the news or life.

  • Continue to read aloud to your child.

  • Encourage your child to read independently. Have them read a recipe, a grocery list, directions to somewhere and other real life reading opportunities.

  • Talk to your child about what he is she is learning in specific subjects. Have them summarize stories and ideas for you.

  • Realize learning takes time and many tries. Your child will make mistakes and struggle at times. This is part of the learning process. Be supportive and encouraging.
