I grew up in Pensacola, Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana. I moved many times in my childhood because my father was a nuclear engineer at a time when there were not many reactors up and running in the United States. But I will always be a southern girl at heart.
I graduated with a bachelor's in Elementary Education with a concentration in science from the University of New Orleans. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement in English Language Learners from Concordia University in Chicago. I also have a second Masters as a Reading Specialist.
This is my 31st year in the classroom. I have taught in four different states. I started teaching in Louisiana, taught in North Carolina, Virginia and Illinois. All of my experience has been in third, fourth, and fifth grade. This is my 17th year at Middleton.
I am married and have three children. My boys are 27 and 23 and my daughter is 8 years old. My mother and father still live in Pensacola, Florida, making going home a wonderful vacation.
