École Shoreline Community Middle School is proud to offer a Challenge Program that serves the unique needs of gifted, creative, and talented learners.
Students who see the world in unique ways, and have a true love of deep and creative learning, will have the opportunity to participate in 3 self-directed inquiry exhibits over the course of the school year. These exhibits will loosely focus on different areas of the existing curriculum, and will give the students the chance to develop an enriching, self-directed, inquiry-based product unique to their learning styles.
The Shoreline Challenge Program runs digitally via Google Classroom, with a weekly in-person check-in block.
~ Please note, students in this program are expected to work with minimal direction during class, as well as be willing to commit considerable time on their Challenge projects outside of class time. The Shoreline Challenge program is, by design, a self-directed educational experience, and students are expected to be highly self-motivated, which is a precursor to the Challenge Programs available at Mount Douglas and Esquimalt High Schools. Students are also expected to be reflective, and willing to challenge themselves in how they learn and what they produce. ~
