This amazing group of youth come from Moutse, Limpopo in South Africa. Many of the members grew up without running water or electricity. Many do not have parents, and were raising their younger siblings in one of the poorest neighbourhoods of the country. The choir was started as a way to heal and provide opportunity for the youth.
In 2018, the choir gained international fame through their cover of "Shape of You." In 2019, they went all the way to the finals in America's Got Talent. Read about their incredible story here.
Remember this one from ukulele class? This is a partner song, where different songs can be sung together and still sound like music! It is also a round, where the different songs come in at different times. Choose a part and sing along with it.
Sing the Beatles' "With a Little Help from my Friends" with this Victoria group. You can't see him but Ben from Division 4 and his mom are singing in this song!
Missing choir? Me, too! Luckily there is Couch Choir. Sing along to David Bowie's Heroes - a song for our heroes, the truck drivers, nurses, researchers, pharmacists, grocery store workers, custodians, doctors, bus drivers, mail carriers, and all other essential service workers.
Do you remember singing this at Vic Sings last year? So much fun! See if you can clap along with them and maybe even add the actions! How can you keep from singing?
Warm-ups are important! Sing with the Cincinnati Youth Choir (up to 10:00 - then it gets more technical). Enjoy!
