Coach Rumsey is entering her 24th year of teaching and coaching. She started her running career as a Flathead Bravette, competing in cross country and track in high school. Her coaching career started in Fort Collins, CO at Poudre High School where she taught business and coached Cross Country and Track for 5 years. In 2007, when the high schools split, she returned home to her alma mater where she is in her 19th year teaching in the Business Department and coaching cross country. Coach Rumsey is not only passionate about coaching cross country, but also continues to compete herself in many road races. She has raced a handful of marathons and many half marathons and 10k's. Not only does she enjoy the competition herself, but passing her passion onto others.
She currently teaches SL and HL IB Business Management and Personal Finance.
Assistant Coach Cory Wilson
Coach Wilson is currently in his 26th year of teaching and coaching. As a seasoned coach, he is competitive and enjoys helping athletes get the most out of their potential. During the school year, Coach Wilson teaches Western Civilization and American History. When not teaching, Mr. Wilson enjoys his family and small farm.
Assistant Coach Danika Johnson
Coach Johnson is a 2011 Flathead graduate, where she competed in both volleyball and basketball. After high school, she continued her basketball career at North Idaho College and later at Hawaii Pacific University. While she never ran competitively in high school, running was always part of her life for both fitness and enjoyment, and it remains to keep her balanced today.
Coach Johnson returned to Flathead and teaches Social Studies while coaching girls basketball and track and field, mainly long and triple jump. She loves sharing her passion for history in the classroom and pushing athletes to discover their strengths in competition.
Assistant Coach Collin Buck
Coach Buck is beginning his 6th year of coaching cross country. He began coaching as a volunteer for Gallatin High School at the same time as he was finishing up his last year of competing for Montana State's XC/TF program. Coach Buck has a background of competing in cross country and track from high school through college. He finds motivation in watching our athletes strive for success in their own personal goals.
