Hello there! Allow me to introduce myself. After graduating from Bigfork High School with a basketball scholarship, my circuitous route through higher education left me with an Art/Education and English/Education undergraduate degrees from University of Montana. I then pursued a Master’s degree at the Cyprus College of Art followed by further studies at the University of North Hampton, UK. As a young child, I realized Art and the creative spirit was my calling; I knew I would be involved with the Visual Arts in some way or form. My own artistic practice leans towards the 3-D, usually pushing the boundaries between representational and abstract work. Teaching Art fulfills my extrovert while keeping my own practice fresh. In order to teach, one must enjoy working with others and culturing creativity! My pedagogical skills were further honed while adjunct at Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC) under the tutelage of other formative instructors. I spent five years at FVCC before transitioning to Flathead High School in 2013. Since then I have taught Drawing I and II, Printmaking, Art Survey, Sculpture, and Ceramics. For me, Art is a means of communication as well as a vent for the creative impulse which burns inside.
