Art has been my constant companion throughout my life, and drawing, in particular, has always been at the heart of my creative practice. Whether I'm working in pencil, ink, or more experimental media, the act of drawing shapes my perspective and approach to every piece I create. It is not just a technique—it's a mindset, a way of seeing and understanding the world around me. I graduated with my BFA from Art Center College of Design and was immediately invited to return and teach. My M.Ed. from Montana State University came many years later, as I moved from college-level education to high school. I relocated from Chicago to Montana in 2015 after teaching for over 30 years at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I still maintain the title of Senior Lecturer. I have always maintained a working studio outside of my academic career. Over the years, my work has found a home in numerous corporate and private collections across the globe, which I see as a testament to the enduring power of art to connect people across time and space. It's a great privilege to teach the students at Flathead High School!
