New school mascot vote

In September 2023 all students, teachers, and the PAC were asked to vote on a new school mascot. The PAC brought up that our current mascot (the husky) wasn't indigenous to Whistler and was problematic due to unfortunate circumstances in the past. The staff agreed and asked Tanina (our Lil'Wat cultural support worker) for some good options that could represent us. All students in the school were given the opportunity to vote as was the PAC and all staff. Overwhelmingly the students voted for the marmot. We are now "The Myrtle Philip Marmots".
