Children should be encouraged to read to anyone who will listen! It is best if their audience is someone who can listen to them talk about what they read, as this opens the door to greater attention and shared increased comprehension however, a stuffy or a pet will do in a pinch.

Choose one or two books to read that are well within your comfort zone
You can take turns reading with your partner
When you are reading... Look at the picture for clues, think about what makes sense, look at letters for clues and get your mouth ready to say the sounds
