I am the proud mother of a 13 year old girl, Miabella. She is in 8th grade at Glenn Westlake Middle School.
I have been a school social worker for 16 years. I have had the great pleasure of working at Park View Elementary School for the past 12 years. Since I was a young girl, I knew I wanted to work with children in schools and help them become the best versions of themselves.
I love all things coffee. Hot. Cold. Iced with sprinkles. I can usually be found with my coffee mug in hand around school!
After college, I continued on with my education journey and received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Aurora University. I am also proud to say that for the last 9 years, I have had the role of adjunct professor at Aurora University, teaching students pursuing their Master's Degree in Social Work.
I love challenging my brain with learning new things and sharing what I learn with others. I have certifications in trauma and anxiety. I am also a Certified Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor through the National Council of Well Being where I present to community agencies. In February of 2022, I received a Certificate in Trauma Informed Educational Practices in Children and Adolescents from North Central College.
I value the relationships I have with my family and friends. Those relationships are the support I need to continue to grow in life.
