This is another YA social media book, whose main characters are in high school. This time, the social media app, VEIL, is almost a character. It allows anonymous posting, and does not let you post identifying details about yourself. However, it shows you only posts within a certain radius of where you are. Of course, nothing goes the way it is supposed to. The main character, Ivy, is a curious soul who pays attention to details, and she figures out the identities of some of the people who post on VEIL. She uses this information to try and help them and do random acts of kindness, but again, of course, nothing goes as planned, and she really steps in it sometimes, jumping to conclusions and making some big mistakes. I like the way the book is written, and how it's not preachy about jumping to conclusions but at the same time letting you see that it's maybe not such a good idea!
This book is a YA read, dealing with social media and its potential impact on our lives. It follows three main characters, Skye, Asha, and Emma, and how their friendship changes as a result of social media. Asha shares an embarrassing video of Skye, and then deletes it, but not before someone has captured a screen shot...
This is a great book if you like adventures and lots of twists and turns! The book begins with the two main characters, Maddie and Logan, when they are about 10 years old. Logan's father is the US President, and Maddie's father is in the Secret Service. Something happens (not telling!), and Maddie and her father end up moving to a remote cabin in Alaska. She hears nothing from Logan, even though she writes him almost daily. Six years later, Logan arrives on her doorstep, and the adventure begins. I like the book for its strong female lead -- you don't want to mess with Maddie!
