My name is Mark Harnew. This is my 12th year of teaching, and my 6th year at Whiting High School. I am the Girls' Tennis coach. Go Lady Oilers! I graduated from Ball State University in 2009 with a degree in Social Studies Education. My concentrations are in the fields of Economics, Political Science, Sociology, and Historical Perspectives. I love teaching social studies, and I cannot wait to share historical stories, biographies, and the craziness that occured throughout the various time periods of the world.

This school year I am teaching World History, US Government, Economics, Indiana History, AP Government and Politics, and AP Macroeconomics.

I believe all students have the power to achieve greatness by learning new skills that will prepare them for adulthood.
