ap Government and politics

Class Description:

AP Government and Politics is a semester course that is based on the College Board framework. This course will provide students an understanding of how the United States' foundations of democratic principles were developed through the lens of of Founding Fathers. We will learn about the history of our government, the framework of our laws, the Constitution, and all the freedoms that are protected by the Constitution. By the completion of this course, you will be able to understand how politics plays a role in the basic freedoms and culture of the United States.

This class will also participate in the We the People competition. Students will work in groups to create arguments based on a variety of democratic topics ranging from political thought and theories to constitutional freedoms and limits of protections.
