As students get more advanced in their technology skills, we encourage them to start becoming producers rather than consumers. We want them to use technology to design and produce books, videos, games, and other projects. Of course, they will still be consuming, especially using programs like iReady to enhance their learning. We also want to make sure students are being mindful and responsible in how they are using technology. Throughout the year we may work in lessons from Be Internet Awesome or Common Sense Media's Digital Citizenship curriculum as needed. There are a variety of programs students will use during the school year to learn about coding and to create projects: Scratch, Code.org, CS First are a few. They also have access to Typing Agent through their portals so they can practice their typing skills.
If you have tried all these tips and your child's device is still having issues, have your child bring their device into the library for further investigation.
