Developmental Milestones
What are Milestones?
Children develop in certain predictable ways, referred to as developmental milestones. Milestones cover four areas of a child's development:
Cognitive
Communication and Language
Social and Emotional
Motor
Milestones help you understand how your child learns and grows. Click here for an interactive website that allows you to select your child's age or a specific area of development to learn more about milestones at certain ages.
Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) ask questions about things that your child can or cannot do to help track their development. Ask your child's teacher for a copy of an ASQ for your child.
