Can I count my Public Schools Works courses I have completed prior to March, 8th?
No, all professional learning must occur within the following dates:
SEA: March 8th - March 28th (7.25 hours per contract)
SNTEA: March 8th - April 7th (per contract)
Non-union members (per contract)
Are we able to use our lunch and planning time during the school day for logging hours?
Our team reviewed these requests. Per contract article 17.01 School Day: the length of the teacher work day shall be no more than seven (7) hours and forty-five (45) minutes. Teachers shall have a thirty (30) minute duty-free lunch period. So, the lunch time cannot be utilized for professional development in lieu of physical or virtual attendance on the PLD day April 8, 2024. Planning time would not apply to professional development as planning time should be utilized for instructional planning or team planning.

Should Building and long-term substitutes participate?
Yes, Building and long-term subs should participate in the Aprli 8th professional learning day.
They are exempt from seizure training.
Our April 8th PD can include other public works trainings in addition to the seizure training, correct?
Yes, please complete all trainings assigned!
I am asking if curriculum alignment is a valid use of part of the April 8th PL Day?
Yes it is. Mapping and unit creating are typical work on PLD days, especially if it is based upon new series training.
