The starting point is northbound on Tai Po Highway, and walk through the car road beside the dam of the Kowloon Reservoir to the Kam Shan Family Walk Road interchange. The scenery is good but there is no shade. There is a pavilion at the interchange for rest.

After Check Point 2, turn left on the road and walk along the road, then turn right and go up the hill along the trail. Along the way, you can overlook the area of ​​Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan on the left. After passing the Shing Mun Bunker, you will arrive at Shing Mun Reservoir Barbecue Site, which has restrooms and vending machines. Walk along the road for about half an hour and end at the Pineapple Dam of Shing Mun Reservoir.
