Glossary of LGBTQ+ terms, from the Human Rights Campaign

The Human Rights Campaign's glossary was written to help give people the words and meanings to help make conversations easier and more comfortable. LGBTQ+ people use a variety of terms to identify themselves, not all of which are included in this glossary. Always listen for and respect a person’s self identified terminology.

GLAAD

The mission of GLAAD is to promote and ensure fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of individuals and events in all media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. Our vision is a world where all LGBTQ young people see a bright future for themselves.

Santa Cruz Diversity Center

The mission of the Santa Cruz Diversity Center is to advocate for, support, and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. The Santa Cruz Diversity Centers works to make Santa Cruz County a safe space; free of fear, hatred, and prejudice.

State of Mind podcast/radio show's 2021 Pride Month episode
