Think of yourself as an athlete in training for the Olympics. How often would you have to practice to achieve a gold medal? How hard would you have to work? Learning to be a musician is very similar. We must condition our muscles on a daily basis in order to develop good playing skills on our instrument. In addition, our ears undergo extensive training, learning how to recognize pitch, melody, and harmony. Musicians, like athletes, must remain committed and dedicated to their art. What kind of musical gold medal will you strive for?
