ERASMUS WEEK IN ITALY
(17-21 FEBRUARY 2025)
The mobility week at the IC Primary school BOVIO-COTUGNO for foreign teachers within the framework of the Erasmus project "OUR SUSTAINABILITY AND ECO-SCHOOL ADVENTURE WITH GREENWEB GAMES" successfully ended. It involved a group of teachers from Latvia, Romania and Türkiye offering a unique opportunity for exchange and professional updating, comparison and cultural enrichment.
During the week, the participants had the opportunity to explore topics related to sustainability and respect for the environment. Interactive workshops and seminars were organized with the collaboration of several organizations ("Un mondo di bene", Trani Naval League, WWF, the Port Authority Captaincy, IRIS) where teachers were able to discover innovative practices for integrating sustainability into school curricula, promoting a greener future for the younger generation.
The teachers visited historical and cultural places of our city, (Jatta Museum, Cathedral, Clock Tower, Caputi Palace, old town) and the surroundings (Trani, Bari, Polignano a Mare) allowing them to immerse themselves in the artistic heritage, Italian landscape and culture.
A meaningful moment was the meeting with the Deputy Mayor of the city Monica Filograno at the Municipal Library, which emphasized the value of international cooperation and the crucial role of educational initiatives in promoting a more sustainable and conscious community. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Library, Mrs De Francesco, who had the pleasure of showing the participants the precious ancient books kept in the library and the beauty of the the building itself.
These experiences gave us moments of reflection and discussion on the value of history and culture as tools for growth and development.
The Erasmus project joined educators from different backgrounds, created a stimulating learning environment and intercultural exchange. We improved our professional training and cooperation between Schools. Our aim is to promote proper educational practices and to raise young people’s awareness of environmental protection and value of culture.

Impressions from learning, teaching and training activities - Italy, February 2025
The first activity of our Ka210-SCH Erasmus project named "Our Sustainability and Eco-School Adventure with GreenWeb Games", numbered 2024-1-IT02-KA210-SCH-000243956, in partnership with Romania, Latvia, Italy and Türkiye was held at the I.C. Bovio-Cotugno school, in Ruvo di Puglia, Italy between the dates 17.02.2025 and 21.02.2025.
During the mobility, activities on 'recycling' and 'water' were carried out. Various workshops and simulation lessons organized within the scope of the project supported international cooperation and offered teachers the opportunity to learn different education systems and pedagogical approaches. “This LTT contributed substantially to both my professional and personal development. First and foremost I learnt how to cooperate in order to instill an eco-sustainable behaviour in our students. I also learnt that digital games can create a strong foundation for recycling and that local communities can really make a difference for the environment if they keep in mind The 3Rs. The contribution of each member of a community is valuable and unique within the group.”
“The meeting with teachers from Italy, Turkey and Latvia proved to be a constructive exchange of ideas about protecting the environment and reducing pollution by means of digital games. Moreover, my language skills improved and I became more confident about getting involved in other Erasmus+ projects in the near future.”
“I was impressed with the careful planning of the activities, the professionalism and the promptitude of our Italian hosts. All these factors combined enriched my knowledge of sustainability, recycling and protecting the environment. I was grateful for this learning experience and for being part of this Erasmus+ project!”
“All group activities helped us to know each other better and to colaborate as well. I appreciated that our hosts planned a well structured programme which included a great variety of ativities: interactive workshops, cultural visits and practical activities. The exchange of good practices added value to the meeting and opened the way for a successful future cooperation with all the partners involved in the project.”
“Participating in this Erasmus mobility was for me one of the most beautiful learning experiences, both cognitively, socially and linguistically, through the opportunity to communicate and interact with participants from different countries. During the activities, I understood how important learning through play, through discovery, the development of critical thinking is when protecting the environment is discussed. I am grateful and very happy to have participated in this Erasmus+ transnational meeting!” (Romania)
