CELEBRATING WORLD WATER DAY - Italy
To celebrate World Water Day, the students of our school have participated actively in a wide range of educational and creative activities, realized as part of the project Erasmus+ with the name “Our sustainability and Eco School Adventure with Green Web Games” and the parallel eTwinning project of the same name, with the aim of raising awareness on the importance of the preservation of water resources in the young generations.
The topic of water was at the centre oft the educative path we shared with the european partner schools: through cultura exchanges and online collaboration activities, students and teachers could reflect together about good practices for water conservation and about the necessity of reducing waste. The intercultural approach encouraged an increased global awareness, also stimulating the comparison between the different regional and environmental realities.
During the activities, the students elaborated an anti-waste decalogue“, which stammed from a collective reflection, during which simple but efficient everyday rules emerged:
In order to give the message greater visibility, the students created pictures and slogans on the topic, using WordArt, or drawings, joining keywords like water, life, respect, saving in captivating graphic compositions, which were then collected in an overview board.
All creations have also been collected in a digital gallery, shared on the eTwinning platform, becoming an integral part of the dialogue between partner schools and an incentive to have further creative and didactic confrontations.
This day has represented an important occasion to educate for active and sustainable citizenship, reasserting the central role of the new generations in protecting the environment. Thanks to the integrated approach oft he Erasmus and eTwinning projects, the students have had the chance to experience a concrete learning experience, feeling part of an european net which is bonded by the same values.
With hard work and creativity, water has become a symbol of collaboration and shared responsibility.
