General Overview involving Study Preparation

When quizzes or tests are announced to the students, they are posted on the middle school test calendar and on my homeroom whiteboard. I am suggesting that student's study for multiple nights before a quiz or test. It is much better to study in smaller increments on a regular basis so that students are better with maintaining and applying information. Students will only need to study from their study guide, that we go over in class. There are links at the bottom to access daily details about assigned classes.

Current Focus For September 2025: This year we are concentrating on Earth Science.

Week of: 9/8- 9/12: Reading and discussing Ch.1 Lesson 2-3. These topics include Learning about the Moon Phases, Moon exploration and eclipses.

General Overview involving Study Preparation

In middle school the regular homework in science is to study be reviewing what was covered during the day. By doing a quick 5-10 minute review of the study guide topics that were taught or discussed that day, the student is ready to apply the new information coming the next day or to be ready to participate in the discussions that take place. This also allows a student to ask questions about what needs clarity or reinforcement.

Quizzes/tests are posted on the calendar below. I suggest that student's study for multiple nights before the quiz. It is better to study in smaller increments on a regular basis to better maintain and apply the learned information. When it comes time to study for a quiz or test, the student will only need to use their study guide. We go over this in class and review it often.

Current Focus For September 2025: We will be focused on Physical Science topics. We will start the year investigating waves and the way energy moves through waves. Ch 1 concludes with a look at seismic waves that cause earthquakes and tsunamis.

Week of: 9/8- 9/12: We will continue looking at waves. Energy moves in the form of a wave, so we will be exploring various forms of energy. Students should review their Ch1 S4 for the quiz on Thursday.
