Hello! My name is Andrew Austin, and I’ve been a science teacher for over 11 years. I’m a California-based educator with teaching experience across Orange County, Fresno County, and Los Angeles County. I hold both a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) in Biology. Over the years, I’ve taught a wide range of courses including Biology (regular, honors, and AP), Chemistry (regular and honors), Human Anatomy & Physiology, and Middle School Science.
Teaching is truly my passion. I love spending my days in the classroom engaging students, sparking curiosity, and helping them build confidence in the subjects I love. I’m also equally passionate about curriculum design and organizing complex scientific concepts in ways that are clear, accessible, and meaningful for students. Nearly a decade of my experience has been dedicated to AP Biology and Chemistry, and for this reason, I have spent A LOT of time developing resources for these subject areas.
Over the years, many colleagues have commented on how well my resources are put together, but to be honest, I can think of HUNDREDS of things I would like to change, update, and create! Starting in January 2026, I'll be taking a temporary step back from teaching in the classroom, and will instead, be prioritizing time to continue developing curriculum, lessons, and activities. I am excited (and extremely fortunate) to have this dedicated time to reset and refresh.
During this "break" from teaching, I’ll also be offering tutoring services (both in-person and online) to support students and sustain my work—so any referrals are greatly appreciated! I look forward to continuing to share my resources with other educators and to supporting fellow science teachers in this incredible profession. After all, it really is the best job in the world :)
