In 1946, the New York FFA Association combined all of its resources to purchase 1200 acres of Adirondack forest and started a summer camp for teenagers. Their primary goal was to give youth a place away from home for them to recreate who they are and to learn what it takes to meet new people in a new place. At Oswegatchie, we believe that every summer should be unforgettable. So ask yourself: "Have you ever ridden a 350' zipline through an Adirondack forest?" How about kayaked or canoed on four pristine ponds? Have you ever ridden a horse on Adirondack Trails? Mountain biked down rugged paths? Have you made friends from all over New York and the United States?
Camp-Goers, please be sure that you have completed EVERYTHING listed in the online registration portal - this includes physician's form, immunization record and a copy of your insurance card.
Dates: To Be Determined
Camp Address: 9340 Long Pond Rd, Croghan, NY 13327
Communication: Please know that in the world of summer camps, no news is good news. If you don't hear from your child, they are doing great! Oswegatchie has one phone line, so please limit your phone calls to emergencies only. Snail mail to camp or emails to Miss Foote are encouraged but please know that your child will have limited availability to respond back. Care packages are not encouraged.
FFA Advisor Role: Miss Foote will be attending camp with your child. Throughout this time, the advisor's role is to support our students in the experience while allowing them to be independent. Oswegatchie Staff are responsible for the supervision of your child throughout the week, while the advisors are available during meals and situations of homesickness. Otherwise, advisors will be found competing improvement projects throughout camp or just enjoying camp themselves.
Electronics: There is no cell phone service at Camp, and there is lots of sand and water. While we know that students will bring electronics to camp, it is highly encouraged to leave them at home. Miss Foote, Schuylerville CSD or Camp Oswegatchie is not responsible for any lost or forgotten electronics.
Snacks: Please do not bring any snacks to camp! There are little critters (and big ones) that you will attract and chew through your luggage. There are 3 meals daily and snacks available at the camp store.

Wear your bathing suit under your clothes on the way to camp - that way when we get there, you just need to sign-in and then you can go right to taking your swim test.
Use a duffel bag instead of a suitcase. The terrain at camp makes it hard to pull rolling suitcases.
Bring around $30 for lunch on the way to and from camp.
