Dance Season typically runs from after MEA break at the end of October through Mid February.
There is choreography time that is allowed 2 weeks prior to first practice- this is subject to approval by coaching staff.
Tryouts (Placements) will be the first 2 days of practice. Welcome week will take place the rest of the first week of practice for all dancers.
Varsity and JV Black teams start their competitions at the first regular season competition (first Saturday in December).
B Squad (JV Orange) will start their competition season at the second regular season competition.
JV/B Squad Teams will be completed after the last regular season competition of the year (normally the last weekend in January).
Varsity continues on for 1-2 weeks after that up to their Section Tournament. If they are graced with the opportunity for a spot at state, then they will attend that typically the third weekend in February. Otherwise, their season ends at Sections.
Please watch the website and your emails closely! Coaches send out the schedule and it is given via email, social media, and Google Classrooms for the dancers. Coaches expect that dancers gain responsibility in sharing information with you that they receive in their Google Classrooms.
There is a shared Google Doc with all practice schedules that is shared at the start of the year. In addition, this calendar has all competition, performances, etc. included. If there are any last minute changes we will do our best to change this, but it will always be sent to dancers via Google Classroom first.
Competitions are judged by: https://www.jamdanceteams.org/. Breakdown of scoring can be found here.
When needing to contact a coach please first make sure you have given your student athlete/dancer the opportunity to talk with them first. Then please contact your direct coach via email (you may cc other coaching staff, but please make your initial contact to the direct coach who works with your dancer). Please remember to give them grace in response times as they are normally busy with full-time jobs plus coaching.
Are you asking questions about when competitions are, what time buses leave, etc? Did your daughter make sure to send that to you from her Google Classroom? Did you check the Hub? Did you check your email?
No to those questions, please email a coach and please give us 24-72 hours to respond.
