I believe that all students deserve different kinds of opportunities to freely express themselves, if necessary with self-regulation and executive skills support. Such a support system will help to ensure that all student stakeholders will be able to reach their full potential by discovering and maximizing their interests and strengths. I will use the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National model to help develop a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses all students' academic, social and personal needs. I will carry out data analysis and assessments to decide on the effectiveness of the school counseling program. I am committed to the goal of multicultural competence and upholding all ethical and legal standards in my school counseling practice.
Through collaboration with school faculty and staff, family members and the community, school counselors can develop a high level of support and therefore achieve greater student success than by working alone. As a school counselor, I intend to involve parents, other involved family members, school staff, and community members in the school counseling program to give all students the range of supports that they need.
As a school counselor, it is my mission to connect with students meaningful and lasting ways, to be a supportive, reliable presence in their lives. I will serve as an advocate for students and assist them in facing their challenges with courage and confidence.
