Our Vision
Our vision at PS 130 is to achieve equity and empower students so they can acquire, demonstrate, articulate and value: thinking, knowledge, and behaviors that will support them as lifelong learners, participating and contributing to the global society as leaders, and practicing the core values of our community: Imagine, Believe, Achieve.
Instructional Focus 2026-2027
PS 130 will continue to strengthen instructional coherence and deepen student meaning-making by strategically utilizing HMH resources to support explicit instruction, activation of prior knowledge, purposeful student discourse, and rigorous engagement with complex texts. Through the intentional use of clear student expectations, actionable teacher feedback, explicit modeling of thinking, and structured opportunities for discussion and collaborative reasoning, students will build their ability to construct meaning, articulate their thinking using evidence, and independently apply comprehension strategies across contexts, resulting in increased student independence and improved reading proficiency for all learners.
