Join us for a focused professional development opportunity featuring two breakout sessions designed to guide educators through the CTE Self-Study process.
This session will feature two breakouts - one for participants seeking NYSED approval for existing CTE work in the next two academic years, and one for participants interested in new and expanding CTE programs.
All participants will learn how to complete the NYC Self-Study Report using the CTE Quality Continuum (QC) and gain practical strategies to support a successful External Review and NYSED Application submission.
NOTE: This session is identical to the afternoon offering - we're offering it twice to accommodate schedules.

Description: For those Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) devotees, this session will take you beyond the full semester courses and get you into NGPF activities/lessons that can level up your instruction. Participants will engage in hands-on learning and collective brainstorming to make decisions on what they can do to deepen their personal finance practice.

Deepen your understanding of English Language Learners (ELLs) and discover best practices to effectively engage them in CTE classrooms. with the support of our good friends and close partners in the Office of Multilingual Learners.
Participants will explore high-leverage scaffolds that help Multilingual Learners access and engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

Our partners at Shared Lane have captured best practices and technical guidance for using Xello and Overgrad advising tools to support 9th and 10th grade (0-22 credit) pathways work.

The Advising and Awareness Professional Learning Catalog is designed to support NYC Public Schools staff in delivering high-quality college and career advising to students in their school communities. These professional learning opportunities are open to any school-based staff member supporting students in developing and pursuing their future plans. Sessions are also aligned with the Career Navigation Roadmap to enhance advising practices.
Staff Requirements: Staff who complete 20 hours of coursework from this catalog* by May 22, 2026, will receive an Advising and Awareness Credential from the Office of Student Pathways. This credential recognizes new and experienced staff for completing NYC Public Schools’ annual training sequence for delivering high-quality, and up-to-date advising support.
School Expectation: All schools receiving funding via the College and Career Advising and Perkins SAM are required to designate one school staff member per 500 students enrolled, including CBO partners working directly in schools, to earn the Advising and Awareness Credential.
Per Session: Eligible staff members are encouraged to submit applications for Per Session opportunities to complete up to 20 hours of coursework. ONLY one staff member per school is eligible for centrally funded per-session. Please see the FAQ's* for more details.
