Our Commitment to Our Students
It is the firm belief of the NYCDOE that an environment cannot be supportive if it is not culturally responsive. Culturally responsive environments “affirm racial and cultural identities; develop students’ abilities to connect across lines of difference; elevate historically marginalized voices; and empower areas of social change”.
At FHS we understand that part of this work relies on creating the appropriate supports and structures, so that our students' are affirmed in the multiplicities of their identities and supports them in achieving high outcomes.
Our Equity and Inclusion plan outlines the structures that we have in place at our school.
