The mission of the Curtis High School Warrior Company is to develop the young men and women of Staten Island into strong citizens, disciplined leaders, and proud representatives of their community. We believe every cadet brings unique strengths, perspectives, and potential.
We expect cadets to:
Use the leadership, discipline, and confidence gained in NJROTC to excel in other activities such as performing arts, Honor Society, athletics, and academic classes.
Promote service to the community and explore future opportunities in military, public service, and civilian careers.
Set an example of professionalism and respect for peers both inside and outside the program.
Take pride in their own accomplishments and celebrate the achievements of others.
Help build an environment that is accepting, supportive, and focused on growth, especially for students who may not always see leadership opportunities elsewhere.
At Curtis, we build cadets into confident team members and capable leaders through structure, mentorship, and community.
We accomplish this by:
Creating an active, engaging classroom that strengthens citizenship, leadership, and academic success.
Building a family‑like company culture rooted in esprit de corps, camaraderie, and mutual support.
Teaching cadets to understand and effectively use the chain of command, preparing them for real leadership roles.
Promoting mutual respect across grade levels, backgrounds, and ranks.
Encouraging cadets to learn from both mistakes and victories with a positive outlook and growth mindset.
Addressing and resolving conflict or drama quickly to maintain a professional, unified battalion.
Highlighting and celebrating cadet and unit accomplishments, reinforcing pride and motivation.
Every Curtis cadet should take pride in the Warrior Company, their uniform, and each other. Our goal is to surpass the achievements of previous years by building a unit where every cadet demonstrates commitment, discipline, and excellence.
