Pathfinders Internship Programs

CS4All’s Pathfinders Internship Programs provide high school students across New York City with opportunities to gain work-readiness training and on-the-job experience by placing them in internships at local industry offices.

Internship

Program

High school students currently enrolled in a computer science class, with at least a B average, who are interested in exploring CS as a career are eligible to apply to the Pathfinders Internship Program. Students do not need to have CS skills to apply.

Students who complete the Pathfinders Internship Program receive:

  • 60 hours of on-the-job CS/tech experience

  • A generous stipend through CS4All

  • Career preparation support, including practice interviews and resume review

Participating CS4All schools receive the Pathfinders Internship Program application annually and are encouraged to share with eligible students.

Advanced Internships Program

The CS4All Advanced Pathfinders Internship Program seeks to expand the foundational career-readiness skills introduced to students who have successfully completed the Pathfinders Internship Program by providing an educational and workplace experience with the Computer Science for All team. All Advanced Pathfinders receive a generous wage paid by CS4All.

During their time in the program, students deepen their Pathfinders knowledge through:

  • Practicing effective communication in professional settings with NYCDOE staff, public school teachers, and CS4All partners

  • Participating in regularly scheduled internship hours

  • Assisting CS4All with planning and implementing professional learning opportunities

  • Participating in professional learning sessions to improve their computer science knowledge
